Voix et Actions was formed after the terrible earthquake of January 2010. Initially a group of high school friends (now adult men and women) came together to assure each other of their safety, but they quickly realized their real purpose was to help their fellow Haitians. Since that time they have mentored students; sponsored health clinics; taught classes; designed and operated a micro-loan program in Trouin, Haiti; and designed and operated a goat breeding and distribution program. Now, Voix et Actions has merged the micro-loan program and the Goat Program into the Village Farm in Trouin and an associated Social Justice Warehouse Program. The Farm supports local farmers and business women by providing animals at below market prices to raise or to sell so that they can support their families. The Social Justice Warehouse loans food staples such as rice, cooking oil and pasta to women to resell at the local market for a profit.
The Village Farm
Voices and Actions for Haiti is partnered with Voix et Actions (in Haiti) to operate a self-sustaining enterprise in Haiti - the Trouin Village Farm - that will sell Goats, Pigs, Hens, and Fish to local women and men at wholesale prices such that they can have their own businesses reselling their goods at market prices.
PIGSIn Haiti they say, "a PIG is the peasant's bank account". The Voix et Actions Trouin enterprise will help men and women own pigs.

GOATSSimilar to pigs, the VA enterprise will help families acquire goats as a means to increase their income

HENS
Chicks are raised to hens on the Village Farm and then loaned to local business women at below market cost to be resold for a profit at the local market

FISHReselling Fish farmed by the VA enterprise will add protein to the local market

We are building on experience gained through establishing and operating a micro-loan program, a goat breeding and a distribution program that reached over 100 families, a pig farm, and a hen raising and egg distribution program in Trouin, Haiti.
